The trip
Four days in the driest desert on earth, based in San Pedro de Atacama — Valle de la Luna at sunset, high-desert lagoons, and stargazing that ruins every other night sky for you. This departure runs straight off the Salt Flats, so you can take the whole week end to end. Run with a Chilean partner based in San Pedro.
Part of our South America season. The Bolivia Chapter runs first — then the Salt Flats and Atacama follow as separate 4-day trips. Do the whole run back to back, or take the Salt Flats, work the week from San Pedro, and catch Atacama the weekend after. Each leg runs with its own local partner on the ground.
