The trip
Four days on the Salar de Uyuni — sunrise on the salt mirror, the train cemetery, and the altiplano lagoons where the flamingos are. Short enough to take as a single weekend after the Bolivia Chapter, and it runs with a Bolivian partner who does this route every week — finishing with the border transfer into San Pedro de Atacama.
Part of our South America season. The Bolivia Chapter runs first — then the Salt Flats and Atacama follow as separate 4-day trips. Do the whole run back to back, or take the Salt Flats, work the week from San Pedro, and catch Atacama the weekend after. Each leg runs with its own local partner on the ground.
