The trip
The expedition half of Galápagos, running 24–29 November right after the cruise. Two islands in six days — Santa Cruz and Isabela — with a volcano hike, a full day out to an uninhabited island, and snorkelling most days. Join the interest list and you will hear the moment booking opens.
Galápagos runs back to back in two. Galápagos 1 is the alumni cruise; Galápagos 2 is the expedition that follows it. You can do either, or both.
Day by day
Arrive Baltra — Santa Cruz highlands
Met at Baltra airport, ferry across the Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz, then straight up into the highlands to look for giant tortoises in the wild before checking in.
Speedboat to Isabela — Tintoreras
Cross to Puerto Villamil on Isabela, watching for marine life on the way. Afternoon at Tintoreras Islet — a small volcanic formation with sea lions, marine iguanas, Galápagos penguins and white-tip reef sharks, explored by boat and on foot.
Sierra Negra Volcano
Up to the trailhead in the Isabela highlands for the hike to Sierra Negra and Volcán Chico — about five to six hours over lava fields, with the crater rim in view most of the way.
Back to Santa Cruz — Tortuga Bay & Darwin Station
Speedboat back to Puerto Ayora, then the 45-minute walk out through dry forest to Tortuga Bay. Afternoon at the Charles Darwin Research Station.
Full day to an uninhabited island
A full-day boat excursion to one of the uninhabited islands — North Seymour, Santa Fe, South Plaza or Bartolomé. Which one is set by park authorisation closer to the date. Wildlife walk, lunch aboard and snorkelling whichever way it goes.
Baltra and onward
Breakfast, then the transfer back to Baltra airport.
